A newly converted Grade II Listed Oast House

Little Halden Oast House Rolvenden, Kent, TN17 4JL

Property Overview

An award winning, newly converted Grade II Listed Oast House situated in a secluded rural location with delightful views over farmland.

The historic Little Halden Oast House is a detached property with external elevations of brick and weatherboarding under a clay tiled roof.

The property is understood to date back to Jacobean times starting life as a barn. The building has been added to over the centuries; the Oast cooling floor and a large square kiln were added in 1845.

The previous owner’s family took over the property in 1850 and proceeded to add another square kiln and one roundel. This Oast House was used to dry Hops until 2004 and is believed to be the last working commercial coal fired example in the country.

The building has been converted and restored to a very high standard, offering all the benefits of a new build property but maintaining the character and charm of the original. The property now offers substantial accommodation of around 5400 sq ft including the cart barn and office.

We recently were awarded a building construction award in the category of "Best Domestic Project," by Ashford Borough Council in recognition of our high standards of construction and development for this project.
